The property consists of the listed historic Hofbrauhaus Coburg (existing property), which was built as early as 1856, and a new building completed in 2012. Within the historic shell is a modern, flexible four-storey office building with two attic storeys and an adjoining outbuilding (brewhouse). In addition to Hochschule Coburg, the Hofbrauhaus is also used by the Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft der Stadt Coburg mbH (WiFöG) and a software company that operates a computer centre here.

A new three-storey building was erected next to the Hofbrauhaus, integrating ten historic cellar vaults in the basement. The elongated new building is connected to the brewhouse and the existing building complex by a two-storey connecting structure. The teaching and seminar rooms as well as staff offices are located on the floors above ground. In the basement or ground floor, the historic cellars are made transparent by a large glass façade and naturally lit right down to the depths. In addition, a refectory was built on the property.

The object is located around 600 m southwest of Coburg’s market square.
